Carolina Mariposa, LMFT

California Endorsed Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist 0-6

Carolina has been a compassionate provider of infant mental health services for over two decades, both in private practice and in numerous community mental health agencies. She has been fortunate to learn directly from many of the field’s most prominent doctors, therapists and teachers, including Kristie Brandt, Bruce Perry, T. Berry Brazelton, Jeree Pawl, Ed Tronick, Alicia Lieberman and Kathleen Truax. Her specialties include fussy babies, aggressive toddlers and little ones with sensory sensitivities, especially those who may show developmental delays or have disruptions in attachment relationships (loss, foster care placement). She loves working closely with parents and caregivers to collaboratively understand and support their children.

Carolina also has a long history of working in supervisory and management positions in the mental health field. She has trained entire clinics on how to provide comprehensive infant mental health services, as well as supervised nearly 100 clinicians in the field. She loves working with groups to share information and train others on the many aspects of the early childhood mental health field.

In addition to being endorsed by the state of California as an Infant Mental Health Specialist for children ages 0-6yrs, Carolina is also certified in the evidence-based model of Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT therapist and supervisor) and trained as a supervisor in the evidence based model of Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP). She is a proud graduate of the Napa Parent Child Infant Mental Health Fellowship in partnership with University of Massachussets, Boston.
